In order to preserve public health, MLSA is primarily providing legal services by phone or email:
- To apply for legal services, please use our online application or call our Helpline at 1-800-666-6899.
- You can find free legal information and forms for problems related to COVID-19 at MontanaLawHelp.org.
- MLSA's offices are closed to the public until further notice. We encourage clients to use email or telephone communication to access our services and to submit legal documents electronically.
While there is no way to anticipate exactly how this virus will affect our community, we recognize that COVID-19 is having a greater impact on low income individuals, who bear the brunt of economic, food, employment, and health insecurity. MLSA is committed to providing free legal services to low income individuals in order to help them navigate the pandemic and economic crisis.
Want to help?
MLSA is grateful to have dedicated pro bono volunteers to provide much-needed legal assistance to clients. If you are an attorney interested in helping your community, please consider volunteering your time through MLSA's Volunteer Attorney Program, which offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities to best fit your expertise and availability.
Interested in supporting MLSA through other means? Consider donating directly to MLSA. Every donation helps ensure that low income Montanans are able to access legal assistance when they need it most, helping people stay in their homes, receive medical care, escape abusive and violent environments, and rebuild their lives.
We are taking these precautions to help reduce the risk of infection in our community and to be able to provide safe legal services. For current updates and information, please refer to the Montana DPHHS’s Coronavirus website and the CDC website. We will provide regular updates for our clients, volunteers, and employees as the situation changes.
