Valentine’s Day Tax Help for Veterans

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites across the state will give priority to veterans who need help preparing their tax returns this Valentine’s Day.  Participating sites are located in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Butte, Kalispell, Havre, Hamilton, Miles City, and Helena.  To qualify for services, the veteran must have less than $50,000 in household income and must schedule an appointment with the center.  IRS-certified volunteers at VITA sites provide help free of charge to income-eligible people.  To learn more about the Valentine’s Day activities, including information from each site about how to schedule an appointment. For more information about tax resources in Montana, including how to file your taxes online through the I-CAN e-filing system, visit www.montanafreefile.org.
