July is Disability Pride Month!
Did you know that you can request accommodations to participate in court? To submit a request, fill out the Americans with Disabilities Act Request for Reasonable Accommodation in Court, which you can find by following this link. Be sure to do this at least 48 hours before your court proceeding.
After you make a copy for yourself, return the completed form to the clerk of court where you have your case or hearing. Make sure to ask the clerk to forward the form to the attention of the court ADA Coordinator, and keep a copy of this request for yourself.
The court can ask for additional information, but they can’t ask you for detailed medical information or a diagnosis. This information must be kept confidential and not be filed with your case.
Download and fill out the ADA Request for Reasonable Accommodation form, including full instructions.
