The Montana Family Transition Project offers free mediation with a trained professional who helps you and your co-parent talk through issues and make a plan that works for your family- without going to court.
How mediation works:
- You each talk to the mediator separately.
- You meet together over Zoom.
- If you agree on a plan, the mediator helps you fill out and file the court paperwork.
*You can also get free legal advice and a child support consultation throughout the process.
Requirements:
- You must share minor children
- Both of you apply
- At least one of you qualifies based on income
