Delaying or avoiding foreclosure

Loss mitigation and bankruptcy are two options to delay or avoid foreclosure. With loss mitigation, you might be able to pause your payments temporarily or make them up later. Filing bankruptcy can pause a foreclosure and might allow you to make up missed payments over a few years.
