April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
It’s hard to know what to do, how to feel, or even what your options are after a sexual assault. The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) has a number of resources on what you can do next if you experience sexual assault. These include legal issues like navigating the criminal justice system, crime victim compensation, DNA evidence, and understanding statutes of limitations. Read more at rainn.org/help-and-healing/if-youve-been-assaulted/
If you’re in immediate danger or seriously injured, call 911. To learn about your legal options, you may qualify for free legal help or advice from MLSA. To apply, contact us at 1-800-666-6899 or apply online at www.montanalawhelp.org/apply-legal-services
