The LITC needs attorneys and tax professionals to volunteer to help low income taxpayers to resolve their disputes with the IRS. The LITC assists clients after they are screened for financial eligibilty and merit.
LITC volunteers have 4 options for assisting: direct representation of clients with controversies, brief services to clients through limited advice, consultation, and/ or tax preparation as it relates to controversy cases, updating LITC resources such as brochures and website, and or presenting informational workshops on tax matters. LITC volunteers can donate time as their schedules allow.
Montana Legal Services Association provides volunteers with the resources and support to make sure their experiences are positive and rewarding.
